I joined edsonwilliams as the first illustrator in the team. Yesterday I drew a nice and corny portrait of my sister and my future brother-in-law for their wedding invitation. Before that I finished a series of commissioned illustrations for the Department of Home Affairs. I did lots of editorial illustrations for ELLE, AvantGarde, Lof, Rails and other magazines in 2007. In April of that year a few of those drawings were part of a show called 'Dutch Fantasy' with work of ten other illustrators and photographers in the Dutch Insitute of Paris. CJP made my illustrations visible all over Holland for their campaign afther spotting my work at the 'Kersvers' exhibition in the Post CS building in Feb 2006. One month before that ELLE and AvantGarde picked up my work and let me draw my first real editorials. I drew four hyperrealistic people for the Sugar Factory as my first series of commissioned illustrations after I graduated from the Willem de Kooning academy in June 2005. For five years I was struggling under the judging eyes of my teachers, trying to figure out how to use my drawing ability while going back and forth between illustration and grapic design. For now it's illustration. With complete devotion.
